Rashy Kid

Poor Charlie has been back and forth to the pediatrician 3 times in the past week for a number of skin conditions that seem to be piling up on each other. He has what is apparently a common virus in children, called molluscum contagiosum, that causes small blisters that are apparently going to heal on their own in a few months. Unfortunately he has picked at a few of them, resulting in several on his legs that are infected. So this first issue has sent us to the doctor twice; with one week of Keflex doing nothing to clear up the infection we have switched to Bactrim which seems to be doing the trick. Our second issue is that on Monday Charlie woke up with a second raised red mystery rash that extends from the middle of his spine down the back of both legs and apparently is only vaguely itchy. The new rash has sent us to the doctor twice and thus far remains a mystery. Having no idea what this new rash could be, the only thing the pediatrician is able to offer us is that if it is still there on Monday she will send us to a pediatric dermatologist. Poor Charlie!

Grandma sends hugs & kisses to her itchy/rashy kiddo and hopes he will be all better very soon.
