Chilly 1/2 Marathon

I am officially signed up for the Chilly 1/2 Marathon in Newton on November 10th! And I am hoping it is, well, chilly, to make running 13 miles slightly bearable... Also making it bearable is that I suckered my boss and my friend Erin in to signing up with me ;-) 

So after I get chased by zombies next Saturday I have a new race to train for -- yay :-)

End Of Summer Update

It is, unfortunately, the last week of summer vacation -- Charlie starts back to school a week from Wednesday, and Amelia officially starts the pre-school year the week of September 9th. That same week marks the start of fall gymnastics to which we are also adding a dance class -- for her age it is a combined ballet/tap/jazz class for which Amelia is ridiculously excited. 

I ordered new backpacks for both the kids; Charlie needed one and Amelia didn't, but after seeing Amelia's reaction to Charlie getting a new pair of pajamas and Amelia NOT getting a new pair of pajamas (she punched him in the stomach and then threw herself on the floor sobbing) I figured we'd spare the drama and she could have a new backpack too. Tomorrow we are getting Charlie's school supplies, the kids both have a decent selection of fall clothes (not that the weather shows much sign of leaving the high 70s/80s any time soon) and so I guess we're ready for fall!!

Probably The Last Pool Day Of The Season...

...I can't believe the outdoor pools at the Weymouth Club are only going to be open one more week & then it is back to school, on to apple picking, Halloween, Christmas.... ;-) But for now here they are having fun with Mike in the pool :-)

Saying Goodbye

We said goodbye to the Wray clan and the beach house this morning -- now we're home and it's back to reality. Here are Amelia and Uncle Alex saying goodbye.

Last Day On The Beach

Since the beach by our house was too wide for Alex to walk across, today we drove to the beach further down in Avalon where it narrows so that he could finally join us for our last day at the beach. The weather also cooperates by not being particularly hot or sunny so that Alex could enjoy a few hours on the beach. Here are pictures:
