This afternoon I took a long lunch and went over to Charlie's school, where I ate lunch with him in honor of his upcoming birthday. I was treated to the school lunch: nachos and cheese with chili, hush puppies, a Caesar salad and a side of black beans. (Charlie also was required to take a fruit, but I was a bad example and opted out of this.)
We also passed out slices of a large cookie cake, which is supposedly "home made" from the cafeteria kitchen, and was actually pretty good. (Seeing as Charlie's old school in Quincy didn't even HAVE a kitchen I find this rather impressive.)
